I hope future brides find this helpful!
Let's start with first things first.
My fiance and I decided on an outdoor wedding and reception with a color scheme of yellow and white with pops of blue; so most of my crafts and ideas have a garden/floral feel in yellows and blues.
We picked the wedding invitations first (even though we didn't order them until many months later) because I carried the color and theme from our wedding invitations throughout many of my crafts.
For example, here is the front of our wedding invitation:
I ordered a sample of the invitation, and scanned in the front of the invitation at home and carried these yellow flower swirls throughout the wedding.
The first thing I used it in is my Save the Dates.
I used the yellow floral design as the top part of my save the date spinner, and found a blue damask design I liked as the bottom.
Around the outside I put:
What: A union of two best friends
Who: our names
When: the date and time (I bought sticker return address labels from Wal-mart and printed on them the date and time with an insert that said "Please use this sticker to mark your calendar to remind you to come to our wedding spectacular" and then they can peel off the sticker and put it in their planner!)
Where: Venue, city, state
For the inside spinner I used a heart shaped pearl brad that I got at Michaels (40 pieces for $5 from their Recollections collection).
